WASA Well Represented at UW Law Conference
This past weekend, August 5-6, numerous educational professionals gathered at the University of Wyoming in the Rochelle Gateway Center to grow as professionals. WASA was a contributing sponsor to the Law Conference that was hosted during this time. Superintendents, Building Principals, Teacher Leaders, and School Board Members were in attendance to gain valuable knowledge on the ever-changing landscape of school law. One of the main topics that were presented was the thought and definition of ethics and how it shapes our profession. Troy Hutchings presented some very valuable information for all leaders on the work that he has been involved in throughout his career. Those in attendance also received a National School Law update from the Sonja Trainor. There have been some big decisions coming out of the Supreme Court that will impact school districts.
WASA was proud to help sponsor such an event. The conference concluded with a mock trial that was put on by some district superintendents and two trial lawyers. The facts of the case were presented to attendees and then the trial played out. Thanks to the participants that were willing to ‘be on trial.'
Thank you to WSBA and UW for hosting such a great event!
